Bound on induced gravitational waves during inflation era

چکیده
We put the upper bound on gravitational waves (GWs) induced by scalar-field fluctuations during inflation. In particular, we focus case where scalar get amplified within some subhorizon scales mechanism Since energy conservation law leads to density of fluctuations, amplitudes are constrained and therefore GWs also. Taking into account this, derive GWs. As a result, find that GW power spectrum must be $\mathcal P_h \lesssim \mathcal O(\epsilon^2 (k/k_*)^2)$ up logarithmic factor, $\epsilon$ is slow-roll parameter $k_*$ peak scale fluctuations.

Gravitational waves in an anomaly-induced inflation
The goal of the present study is to analyze the fate of gravitational waves in a background defined by an inflationary scenario created by a trace anomaly induced by quantum effects generated by matter fields in the primordial Universe [1]. This model is a generalization of the Starobinsky model [2], where a similar mechanism has been developed. The counterterms necessary to avoid divergences i...
متن کاملLarge Gravitational Waves and Lyth Bound in Multi Brane Inflation
It is shown that multi M5-brane inflation in heterotic M-theory gives rise to a detectable gravitational wave power spectrum with tensor fraction r typically larger than the projected experimental sensitivity, rexp = 0.01. A measurable gravitational wave power spectrum entails a large inflationary energy scale and a super-Planckian inflaton variation. They present serious problems for particle ...
متن کاملGravitational Waves from Inflation
Gravitational waves (GW) are tensor perturbations of the metric of curved spacetime that propagate. The metric g is a matrix (or differential 2-form, to be specific) that fully describes the 4-dimensional manifold of a spacetime in general relativity. The components of the full metric gμν are the sum of an unperturbed metric and the perturbation hμν , which varies on a smaller scale (separated ...
متن کاملCOBE, Gravitational Waves, Inflation and Extended Inflation
We analyse the implications for inflationary models of the cosmic microwave background (cmb) anisotropy measured by COBE. Vacuum fluctuations during inflation generate an adiabatic density perturbation, and also gravitational waves. The ratio of these two contributions to the cmb anisotropy is given for an arbitrary slow-roll inflaton potential. Results from the IRAS/QDOT and POTENT galaxy surv...
متن کاملRelic gravitational waves and limits on inflation.
It is shown that only a narrow class of inflationary models can possibly agree with the available observational data on the anisotropy of the cosmic microwave background radiation (CMBR). These models may be governed by “matter” with the effective equation of state −1.2 < p/ǫ < −0.6 which includes the De-Sitter case p/ǫ = −1.
